WELCOME TO A GLOBAL FAMILY OF BRIGHTER AND KAOLINITIC
CLAYS |

Skardon River
Kaolin is a kaolin
mine and processing plant in
North
Queensland,
Australia. |
" The kaolin
slurry is then fed trough a series of vibrating screens
before being passed to the
degritting centrifuges.
These initial stages remove sand and other coarse
contaminants" |
An intensive
mining campaign is carried
out
during the dry season
which provides
stockpiles of ore for processing
through
the year. |
The decanter
centrifuge is a high-speed centrifuge equipped with a
variable speed internal conveyor enabling the kaolin to
be split into 2 streams with different particle size
distributions. |
Ore is stockpiled at the wet
plant ready
for processing. |
The disc nozzle
centrifuge is a vertical high-speed separator which
gives a further split at the finer end of the particle
size distribution. |
The ore is first
fed by conveyer belt to
blunger this primary dispersion
is aided
by the addition of dispersant. |
The
ultra-filtration dewatering unit is a new state of the
art membrane filter which allows for fast and economic
water removal. |
The kaolin from
the wet plant is initially
transferred into holding
tanks at the dry plant. |
The atomising
spray drier completes the water removal, producing
spray-dried beads. |
