WELCOME TO A GLOBAL FAMILY OF BRIGHTER AND KAOLINITIC CLAYS

Skardon River Kaolin is a kaolin
mine and processing plant in
North Queensland,
Australia.

" The kaolin slurry is then fed trough a series of vibrating screens before being passed to the degritting centrifuges.
These initial stages remove sand and other coarse contaminants"

An intensive mining campaign is carried
out during the dry season which provides
stockpiles of ore for processing
through the year.

The decanter centrifuge is a high-speed centrifuge equipped with a variable speed internal conveyor enabling the kaolin to be split into 2 streams with different particle size distributions.

Ore is stockpiled at the wet plant ready
for processing.

The disc nozzle centrifuge is a vertical high-speed separator which gives a further split at the finer end of the particle size distribution.

The ore is first fed by conveyer belt to
blunger this primary dispersion is aided
by the addition of dispersant.

The ultra-filtration dewatering unit is a new state of the art membrane filter which allows for fast and economic water removal.

The kaolin from the wet plant is initially
transferred into holding tanks at the dry plant.

The atomising spray drier completes the water removal, producing spray-dried beads.
